Job Description

The Analyst will manage and provide oversight of Servicer performance as it relates to Master Servicing’s defaulted assets and compliance with the Ocwen Master Servicing Guide by primary servicers.   This person will ensure efforts have been exhausted to mitigate the loss to the company and/or its investors.  This includes, but is not limited to, portfolio management, Servicer management, vendor management, management reporting, and identifying opportunities where Servicer intervention may reduce a potential loss.  Additionally, this position will assist on tasks and projects as assigned by the department manager including working with the REO department and servicers to ensure clear and marketable title, reviewing and monitoring of various milestones of servicer performance such as timelines to complete primary servicing , aged assets, and auditing Servicers for compliance and adherence to the Guide and deal restrictions.  The Loss Mitigation Analyst will assist the manager on special projects and initiatives that impact the Servicer Management department.
  • Track the Servicer’s performance in servicing Ocwen loans and recommend corrective action to the manager or the Servicer.  
  • Assist in the identification of Servicers who require additional training with Ocwen Master Servicing’s guidelines.  Provide guidance to the Servicer as directed by the manager of Servicer Management. 
  • Monitor delinquencies, foreclosures and bankruptcies to ensure that the Servicer is acting in a prudent manner to effectively service Ocwen loans.  This includes the tracking of activities against established timeliness. 
  • Review, negotiate and recommend action on requests for proposed foreclosure alternatives within the timeframes established by management. 
  • Communicate Ocwen goals, guidelines, requirements and other recommendations to Servicers, investors and other parties holding interest in the mortgage loan.  
  • Evaluate data provided on brokers price opinions and appraisals to determine fair market values of properties.  This information may be used for calculating equity analysis, verifying bidding instructions, analyzing short payoffs, deed in lieu of foreclosure or other situations requiring current market value of an asset.  
  • Review basic legal documents (i.e. Substitution of Trustee, Notice of Default, etc.) for proper completion and execution.
  • Assist the Servicer with litigation issues and make recommendations for a timely resolution or negotiated settlement. 
  • Assess, interpret, identify indicators and respond accordingly to data gathered from internal databases/resources that may identify potential workout loans or loans requiring action. 
  • Analyze current processes and procedures, identify needed change, and implement solutions.   
  • Participate on various projects and/or committees.
  • Other duties as required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:
  • High School degree, or equivalent, required. College degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in Mortgage or Loan Default Services.
  • Strong knowledge in the areas of Collections, Loss Mitigation, Foreclosures and Bankruptcies. Knowledge of, or experience in, title or escrow related fields and private mortgage insurance company requirements preferred.
  • Knowledge of Loan Servicing and all support areas function
  • Knowledge of the secondary market foreclosure and default management requirements
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Access, Word)
  • Strong verbal (negotiating and presentation) and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize assignments and handle multiple projects/assignments
  • Ability to achieve tight deadlines in a timely manner
  • Ability to read, understand and analyze loan documents
  • Decision making abilities that demonstrate focus on the customer and a recognition of business objectives
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
  • Ability to build and maintain effective business relationships, internal and external
  • Strong organizational skills
