Homeward is planning for aggressive growth in its lending business across multiple channels, including consumer direct, correspondent and broker. We are looking for experienced mortgage professionals in sales, operations and capital markets who have a passion for delivering the highest level of customer care while working in a growing, fast-paced lending business.
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Assistant, Direct Lending Sales (or Loan Officer Assistant/LOA) is primarily responsible for making outbound calls to existing customers to solicit them for refinance.  The Loan Officer Assistant will take overflow calls from queue when a Loan Officer is not available and re-route those calls directly to a licensed Loan Officer.  The Loan Officer Assistant also performs duties to support the Loan Processors, such as gathering documentation and preparing the loan file for Processing.
Job Functions:
  • Outbound dialing using Homeward telephony technology to existing servicing customers
  • Communicate effectively to customers and internal business partners (loan officers and loan processors)
  • Ability to follow established scripting
  • Scheduling call backs via Microsoft Outlook
  • Basic excel skills for lead tracking and comments
  • Provide constant communication regarding consumer transactions to internal and external business partners, as well as consumers directly
  • Communicate effectively with all parties to the transaction.  If consumer calls within normal business hours, the call will be returned within the same day, but no later than 24 hours.
  • Communicate adequate turn time information
  • Set proper expectations for the completion of a transaction
  • Utilize resources and tools
  • Work with Operations staff to successfully complete transactions
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

  • High school diploma, GED or military equivalent experience required
  • 1 to 2 years of inbound and outbound call center experience and/or customer service 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish. 
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of (or the ability to quickly learn) mortgage documents and terminology
