Description
The Senior Manager, Tax Services monitors the servicing portfolio for accurate and timely payment of real estate tax, ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and investor requirements. Currently their main responsibilities are around working repurchases, reviewing and approving all repurchase items for Fannie and Freddie to present to Sr Management for approval on a monthly basis. Managing a team up to six individuals.
 
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Work closely with Compliance to provide information requested in audits
  • Provide departmental updates to be shared in Investor and Audit presentations 
  • Prepare and Present department overview presentation to Investors, Examiners, Compliance, Risk and Internal/External Auditors 
  • Manage the recovery of corporate advances through claims processing
  • Resolve escalated customer complaints timely
  • Provide leadership for all related projects ensuring deadlines are met
  • Manage processing of all Tax Processes and Workflows through the Daily Compliance Dashboards
  • Provide management oversight to ensure vendors provide timely, accurate, and professional service to both internal and external customers 
  • Monthly Business Review preparation and presentation 
  • Manage to Staffing Model, Monthly and Annual Budgets
  • Daily coaching to ensure team provides timely, accurate, and professional service to both internal and external customers 
  • Develop and implement controls to track/report vendor activity and resolve deficiencies  
  • Ensure that staff is knowledgeable and in compliance with all regulations, departmental and company policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicate policies, procedures, instructions, and ideas to all employees and encourage feedback

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in real estate tax
  • 3 -5 years of escrow experience
  • Solid knowledge of and demonstrated experience in people management
  • Knowledge of change management processes
  • Extensive experience in meeting planning and facilitation
  • Experienced in SQL and Excel
  • 5+ years of experience in real estate tax
  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in related field preferred
