Position Summary:
The Company is seeking a Desktop Engineer to join our Enterprise Technology team to be responsible for supporting global desktop functions with greater focus on Windows environment standardization, security and supportability.  The Desktop Engineer will responsible for developing standard configurations of client computing systems for Windows systems, defining standard hardware configurations for the environment and automating desktop tasks to improve efficiency in the environment. The ideal candidate thoroughly documents, maintains and improves standardized processes around desktop and end user system management.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
  • Perform 3rd level support, identifying root cause with strategic solutions to problems
  • Perform user, system and support requirements; gathering and performing analysis to provide design and architectural recommendations.
  • Provide functional and technical written evaluations of products and operating system upgrades and patches
  • Develop, organize and maintain standard operational procedures
  • Create desktop/laptop build processes for domestic /global sites
  • Create and communicate systems and application standards
  • Create and maintain systems documentation for testing and validation
  • Package software and design distribution methods
  • Perform software distribution and patch management to Windows PC's, laptops, and servers
  • Review and maintain end point group policy objects and AD organization structure
  • Work independently and prioritize work efforts, multi-task in a very fast-paced environment, provide timely and clear updates, and communicate and document solutions for 2nd and 1st Level support.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or military experience) is preferred
  • Minimum 6-7 years’ experience as Desktop Engineer including image creation/build, OS installation/troubleshooting, and Application Packaging.
  • ITIL certification preferred
  • Financial and/or Mortgage industry expertise preferred
  • Microsoft desktop technologies
  • Discipline to adhere to formal system lifecycle methodology
  • Strong Background in the following areas:
  • Windows 10 & 7 Desktop
  • VBScript and/or PowerShell scripting
  • Image build experience using Ghost/WIM or similar technologies
  • Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
  • Microsoft Office
  • Microsoft SCCM
  • Virtual Desktops operating environment
  • SCCM experience with creation, migration and deployment of application packages. Solid foundation of designing and implementing distributions with SCCM.
Training / Licensing Requirements:
  • Must pass the Company’s Background Screening process prior to beginning employment.  Additionally, as a condition of employment, you may be required to pass client-specific background check requirements or Federal/State licensing requirements, if applicable.
