Position Summary:

The Financial Reporting group within the Finance Department is responsible for the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual financial reports with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as well as other federal, state and regulatory agencies. Additional responsibilities include the preparation of separate financial statements (monthly unaudited and annual audited) for certain subsidiaries of Ocwen,  coordinating updates of Ocwen’s documented accounting policies, overseeing the accounting and record keeping related to executive share-based awards, assisting Ocwen’s Treasury Department with the computation of financial covenants for debt and regulatory compliance, responding to internal and external audit requests and maintaining internal control documentation on assigned areas of responsibility for Sarbanes-Oxley and other compliance purposes. 

The Financial Reporting group also provides ad hoc support to senior management and other departments related to business transactions, strategic initiatives and other information needs that may arise.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly Form 10-Q and annual Form 10-K reports for Ocwen in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. This includes filing the financial statements and footnotes in XBRL format.
  • Assist with other SEC filings for Ocwen including Form 8-K (for significant business acquisitions), the annual proxy statement and registration statements for the issuance of stock or debt.
  • Assist with the preparation of separate financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP for certain non-public subsidiaries of Ocwen. This includes annual audited statements (with notes) and monthly unaudited statements (without notes).
  • Assist with the completion of disclosure checklists for 10-Ks, 10-Qs and subsidiary audited financial statements to ensure that disclosures comply with SEC and FASB requirements for public or non-public companies as applicable.  
  • Assist with the preparation of various other non-SEC recurring statutory and regulatory financial reports to be filed with U.S. federal agencies, states and government sponsored entities for certain subsidiaries of Ocwen in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Preparation of schedules which support financial disclosures in reports filed with the SEC and others.
  • Assist Ocwen’s Treasury Department with the computation of financial covenants for debt and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with information requests from internal and external auditors.
  • Assist with financial statement related disclosures in the quarterly earnings release for Ocwen.
  • Assist with the maintenance of a system of internal control that is Sarbanes-Oxley compliant, its documentation and related testing for financial reporting cycles.
  • Assist with the completion and documentation of technical research for financial reporting disclosures and the accounting for complex transactions. This includes assessing the impact of new accounting pronouncements applicable to Ocwen.
  • Assist with the recurring review and update of Ocwen’s significant accounting policies.
  • Assist with ad hoc analyses in support of business transactions, strategic initiatives and other management information needs.  


Key Result Areas:


  • Accurate preparation and timely filing of SEC reports no later than the statutory deadlines (or earlier as specified by senior management) in accordance with SEC regulations.
  • Accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and footnotes for Ocwen subsidiaries in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Accurate preparation and timely filing of various non-SEC reports with U.S. federal agencies, states and government sponsored entities in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance with information requests on or before the deadlines set by internal and external auditors.
  • Compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls over financial reporting.
  • Identification of opportunities to automate and streamline financial reporting processes in order to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Overall, a level of service excellence which meets Ocwen’s service standards of accurate, beneficial, responsive, courteous and efficient.  




To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (preferred) or Chartered Accountant
  • 5 or more years of financial reporting experience, preferably with a public company or a large accounting firm with SEC clients
  • Mortgage servicing industry experience is a plus
  • Strong business writing skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work well under the pressure of external deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with Workiva Wdesk financial reporting software is a plus


Training / Licensing Requirements:

•         Must pass the Company’s Background Screening process prior to beginning employment.  Additionally, as a condition of employment, you may be required to pass client-specific background check requirements or Federal/State licensing requirements, if applicable.

•         CPA Preferred
