POSITION TITLE:   Vice President, Lending Technology


Position Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer of Ocwen Corp, and embedded in the Lending organization, the Vice President of Lending Technology will serve as the business Head of Lending Technology for both our Forward and Reverse Lending business.    Our new Lending Technology Leader will have previous and extensive experience with core forward lending technologies including Encompass, Velocify, Compass Analytics, Marketo, telephony systems, plus familiarity with the reverse mortgage origination and servicing markets and technologies.   They will have a thorough understanding of the mortgage origination process, from marketing through post-closing activities along with a deep understanding of the mortgage industry technology landscape.

As part of both the Lending and CTO Leadership Teams, the Head of Lending Technology will be a strategic thinker who can envision, evaluate and implement a future technology path for our lending business including next generation LOS, marketing platforms, reverse servicing, capital markets and analytics platforms.   They will also be execution oriented with the ability to run and manage a highly efficient and effective technology staff that can delivery day-to-day performance along with long-term platform migrations.  The CIO/CTO will understand how to leverage technology to drive cost efficiencies.  Finally, this executive will be a Leader who can help shape the Lending and Technology organizations at Ocwen.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Leveraging enterprise-wide and embedded technology resources to provide day-to-day IT systems, tools and services in support end-to-end Loan origination activities.

  • Ensure that all new and future applications and systems integrate effectively to support the operational goals of the business.

  • Support new business initiatives by developing business and IT requirements, evaluating systems and technology alternatives, and providing oversight for project implementations, supporting technology purchases, solution development and operational support plans.

The IT Leader will be a hands-on technology leader, with a focus on three primary areas:

Operations Support

  • Leads/negotiates sourcing strategy for IT services, and develops and maintains service level agreements. Direct and manage the activities of vendors supporting the IT department.

  • Responsible for improving Lending operational excellence and controlling costs

  • Responsible for people management activities including recruiting, development, performance management, compensation, organization and teaming.

  • Create and implement controls, structure, best practices and 'service oriented' culture throughout Lending and IT services

  • Partner with the other executives to support and meet profitability and quality goals

  • Establish and implement a control framework

  • Ability to successfully interact with customers and users at all levels

Project Execution

  • Proven ability to lead project teams to meet aggressive timelines, stay within budgetary constraints and meet/exceed user requirements

  • Demonstrated large/complex system implementation experience

  • Implementation of automation solutions for loan processing

  • Consumer lending experience preferred, reverse mortgage experience highly desired

Planning & Strategy

  • Assess the status of the industry and its technology base in order to designing and building appropriate technology solutions to support policies and direction

  • Be able to lay out and evaluate a technology roadmap for the business

  • Recommend and support IT investments that are aligned with strategic business objectives and budgetary constraints




To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:

  • Executive level leadership skill

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • 15+ years of mortgage industry experience

  • Extensive experience with Encompass and other mortgage industry technologies

  • Advanced degree in Technology

  • Extensive experience with the mortgage loan origination process, including lead management, application processing, underwriting, closing and funding.

  • Experience with cost benefit analysis, budgeting, estimating, and basic financial concepts

  • Experience with architectures, systems and operations supporting consumer lending; reverse mortgage experience desired

  • Training / Licensing Requirements
