POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Manager of LFA & MECA, the Sr. Claims Review Analyst will be responsible for performing a quality control review of the HUD claims that have been reconciled and audited by Claims Review Analysts. Additionally, the Sr. Claims Review Analyst prepares and rebuts make-whole bills for any curtailment or expenses due to the Investor from the servicer.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform quality control review of audit packages prepared by Claims Review Analysts.
  • Confirm that audit packages for loan transactions through liquidation strictly adhered to HUD guidelines, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Prepare make-whole bills to be sent to Servicer on behalf of Investor to recoup any debenture interest and expenses due and not recovered via the HUD claim process.
  • Prepare invoices to bill Investor for the claim packages audited and billed on a monthly basis in accordance with the terms of the Servicing Agreement.
  • Respond to questions from the Servicer and Investor regarding make-whole billings.
  • Provide comments and rebuttal responses related to make-whole billings to Servicer.
  • Perform audits on claim packages as dictated by need to meet monthly production requirements.
  • Participate on special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years' mortgage banking experience
  • 3-5 years' comprehensive experience in servicing loans according to applicable investor guidelines
  • Advanced experience with, and understanding of, FHA claim filing requirements
  • Reverse mortgage servicing experience preferred
  • Ability to perform complex analysis with minimal supervision
  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills
  • Good written & oral communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with multiple mortgage servicing systems
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks with minimal supervision
