POSITION SUMMARY:
Manager, Vendor Risk Management, is responsible for identifying critical Third-Party risks (financial, operational and regulatory). This individual will lead vendor assessment initiatives. Identify and recommend control enhancements and provide management with outlined solutions to reduce and mitigate vendor risk. Monitor regulatory developments and emerging risks that impact VRM program including identification and remediation of VRM program gaps/issues.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to function independently, apply professional judgment, interface with all levels of management, and communicate complex matters clearly and succinctly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead assessment team efforts in establishing effective program around vendor risk and controls
• Conduct, manage and execute Vendor Risk Assessments
• Manage and develop a team of vendor risk professionals to execute vendor assessments (audits) and projects, providing direction and ongoing coaching and development
• Monitor and provide periodic inherent and residual risk reports, and recommend control enhancements with outlined solutions to address risks efficiently
• Ensure compliance with applicable legal/regulatory and contractual requirements
• Support due diligence activities required for vendor onboarding and external audit inquiries
• Consistently work with Line of Business and vendors to improve business and vendor performance in line with agreed service levels
• Ensure effective monitoring and tracking of diversity vendor spend
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and audit standard changes to assess impact on controls/procedures
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by bringing leading practice frameworks, audit/assessment process improvements, and thought leadership
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's Degree required. Preferred: Finance or Business Administration, Risk Management or related disciplines pertaining to data management and transmission i.e. information risk management, information technology, cybersecurity, data governance, etc.)
• At least 5 years of experience in auditing, risk management, or a combination
• Experience with Issue Validation and Remediation
• At least 3 years of project management experience or at least 3 years of experience managing audit engagements / third party risk management
• Work experience in mortgage industry, banking, financial services preferred
• At least 3 years of experience performing industry research or data analysis in support of assessments
• At least 2 years of experience in people management. Experience leading and providing feedback to staff on audit/assessment projects or engagements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Solid knowledge and understanding of audit and risk methodologies and supporting tools
• Ability to add value and improve the quality of the outcomes, as opposed to merely run a process
• Strong understanding of financial regulatory environment
• Exposure or experience to multiple risk disciplines (i.e., operational risk management, enterprise risk, technology/cybersecurity or other risk disciplines)
• Ability to manage and control performance by virtue of organization, process, and data-driven feedback loop
• Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities

TRAINING / LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
• Preferred: Certified Third-Party Risk Professional (CTPRP), Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP) or relevant disciplines such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
• Microsoft Office which includes excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills


TRAVEL / WORK SCHEDULE
• Ability to travel up to 15% as required for vendor assessments and other business-related travels (including India, Philippines and USA)
