The VP, Financial Data Strategy will report to the SVP, FP&A and will be dedicated to defining and implementing a data strategy for Finance. The data strategy for Finance will include responsibility for data completeness, accuracy and consistency for data elements required for financial forecasting and analytics. The role will require close partnership with IT and other teams outside of finance where responsibility for data.models and analytics reside.

Responsible for defining and managing the financial data strategy for the organization with opportunity to:

  • Work directly with the CFO on key strategic initiatives
  • Present to Executive Leadership team
  • Be involved with financial planning and analysis operations
  • Work with skilled professionals with diverse backgrounds and supporting multiple stakeholders

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of the financial data strategy for Finance including the centralization of key metrics and model results that financially impact the organization
  • Design and maintain Finance Data Mart including production level support and coordination with other data marts and warehouses within the organization
  • Ensure data availability and accuracy of data required to develop and maintain advanced financial models including profitability, liquidity and cashflow forecasts over near term to long term periods
  • Develop data governance strategy to ensure consistency and accuracy of detailed data elements, budgets and model outputs
  • Design the data model and maintain the administration of Oracle planning and budgeting system (EPBCS)
  • Contribute to multiple projects through all phases in a timely and effective manner through collaboration with various departments.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
  • Provide highest level of internal and external customer service

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in data design, governance and management in Financial Services with increasing levels of responsibility, including expert level understanding of data model design, ETL and model structuring
  • Minimum of 6 years’ mortgage experience required with experience in both Production and Servicing preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years’ supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Technology or equivalent experience required.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to partner with all levels of management to ensure effective implementation of time-sensitive initiatives and identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to work with teams, especially across locations and time zones, in execution of projects and identification/ resolution of deficiencies or opportunities for improvement
  • Strong analytical ability and understanding of financial activity
  • A successful track record of developing strong relationships across a broad range of leadership functions allowing for effective influencing and change.
  • Ability to analyze and present complex financial information concisely with clarity
  • Ability to independently analyze, lead, and present with very limited guidance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert proficiency with SQL, SSIS (or alternative ETL tool); advanced proficiency in MS Excel including VBA preferred
  • Competencies in problem solving, creativity, organizational skills while showing good judgment and execution within a fast-paced environment

Training / Licensing Requirements:

  • Must pass the Company’s Background Screening process prior to beginning employment.
