Job Description


This position will manage the pricing/ lock desk team within Capital Markets. This individual will manage the daily responsibilities associated with pricing and bidding loans across a variety of products and channels. This is an area within the company that is undergoing a significant amount of growth, including expansion into new services, products, sellers, etc.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

Expansion & Development

  • Prepare, maintain and publish daily rate sheets for both wholesale and correspondent divisions.
  • Review and confirm rate lock requests including original rate locks, floats, re-locks, extensions and cancellations
  • Commit and register loans with investors. Monitor outstanding commitments and expiration dates
  • Monitor loan criteria changes and determine if adjustments in the lock are required
  • Re-confirm locks from previous day to ensure accurate pricing
  • Enforce Secondary Marketing Rate Lock Policy
  • Manage the system, product and procedural inquiries
  • Manager the roll out of new products
  • Work to ensure turn times remain at acceptable levels
  • Monitor and measure pricing concessions
  • Manage related system implementation and set up
  • Manage updates to and maintenance of outward facing pricing applications
  • Manage development of a best-efforts lock desk
  • Support sales team in growth of business line through analytics
  • Assist with establishing guidelines around pricing and eligibility
  • Manage technical deployment of pricing logic
  • Liaison between Trading Desk and the Operations/Underwriting functions
  • Authorize pricing negotiations and concessions; enforce policy guidelines
  • Ensure adherence to company’s policies and procedures in pricing commitments, extensions and re-pricing loans
  • Lead team discussions related to margins, volume and optimization of opportunities
  • Lead preparation of management reports
  • Develop and build strong relationships with internal customers through regular dialogue
  • Contribute to model and technology improvements across various analytic and database tools
  • Participate in testing system enhancements
  • Update desk procedures and look for opportunities to improve processes
  • Alert traders to deviations from policies regarding hedge position/ profile or material shifts in effectiveness
  • Contribute to analysis and materials for executive leadership meetings and/or committees

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:

  • Bachelors degree required; Prefer focus in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Call Center environment, preferably in a Mortgage banking, Banking or Financial Services environment
  • 1+ years managing people, preferably in a call center environment
  • Knowledge of mortgages and/or capital markets preferred
  • Experience with lock desk, pricing and/or commitments
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to develop cross-functional relationships across an organization
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Ability to interface confidently with internal/external parties
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment

Training / Licensing Requirements:

  • Must pass the Company’s Background Screening process prior to beginning employment. Additionally, as a condition of employment, you may be required to pass client-specific background check requirements or Federal/State licensing requirements, if applicable.
