As Treasurer, you will assume leadership of a Treasury team for a large, public, Mortgage company. You will develop a deep understanding of the balance sheet of the organization and employ a hands-on working knowledge of how to manage debt facilities, including warehouse lines, servicing advance facilities, MSR financings, EBO facilities, etc.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute strategies to improve financing of corporate activities, including lowering costs or improving terms
  • Manage a team that assures smooth functioning of existing debt facilities and collaborate with cash management leaders to assure proper availability of liquidity
  • Support senior leadership and business unit managers through producing financial analysis and forecasts supporting overall corporate finance strategies and assure availability of capital to meet corporate objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key internal and external partners, particularly banking partners.
  • Negotiate debt facilities working with internal and external lawyers and bankers to find optimal financing solutions
  • Utilize cost effective strategies and provide investment solutions
  • Create department policies, procedures, and methodology
  • Responsible for compliance with state and federal regulations and GSE/HUD regulatory guidelines as they relate to balance sheet management
  • Evaluate Systems and Processes, providing cost effective solutions
  • Build and develop a strong Treasury team making any appropriate staff changes to create a best in class department
  • Prepare and review management reports
  • Participate and provide support in the forecasting/planning process
  • Monitor industry developments, market trends and valuation / activity of publicly traded and private comparable companies, with particular emphasis on understanding how non-bank mortgage companies optimize their funding

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration or other degree plus relevant experience. MBA preferred, but not required.
  • Experience that demonstrates excellent analytical and presentation skills, and the ability to analyze market data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Treasury or related finance experience, with at least 5-years in mortgage-related companies.
  • Successful track record as a Senior level Financial executive
  • Experience in mortgage finance, including warehouse lines, servicing advance facilities or MSR funding
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think outside the box and confidently present opinions, ideas and solutions to department leaders; skilled at presenting complex financial concepts
  • Skilled in cash flow analysis and forecasting
  • Understanding of audit operations, risk assessment, audit methodology, quality assurance practices; global transformation projects; and risk assessment processes
  • Demonstrates behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s culture and values
