Job Description

Under the supervision of the Collateral Manager, the Collateral Specialist, will be responsible for assisting and reviewing inspections, insurance claim reports, and responding to property issues discovered by other departments.

Job Functions and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Review and analyze vendor reports for property damage which includes property inspections, BPO, and appraisals for both Servicing and REO properties to ensure that appropriate action is taken to protect and preserve the collateral.
  • Review claim denials from the insurance carrier to verify accuracy of fact, possible rebuttal and alternate carrier coverage opportunities.
  • Assist with reviewing FEMA damage reports.
  • Review the Optimal HUD Claims report for damaged properties to ensure that copies of the adjuster's reports and checks were received for damaged properties with loss draft proceeds.
  • Review and file claims for properties designated with claimable damage as needed.
  • Various other duties, special projects as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED, equivalent certification, or military experience required
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be analytical, organized, logical and detail oriented
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Training / Licensing Requirements
Must pass the Company's Background Screening process prior to beginning employment. Additionally, as a condition of employment, you may be required to pass client-specific background check requirements or Federal/State licensing requirements, if applicable.
